Podium in Zermatt – EWS

We have all waited a long time for the start of the 2020 enduro season. There could not have been a better location, the Matterhorn, and there could not have been a better result, a podium.

The Sunn Enduro Team shows once again to be one of the best teams out there. Last year the team ended the season with Kevin Miquel’s third place on the EWS overall podium. Last weekend another great result. Théo Galy stepped on the podium with an extraordinary third place. What a great start to the season!

This result is particularly crucial for us because Théo Galy has placed on the podium a Sunn Kern EN Factory fitted with a Formula shock prototype. To be honest, we are well beyond the prototype stage. In fact, we will have exciting news for you very soon. We are thrilled with this significant result.

Our shock has already conquered the podium of the EWS before being officially available on the market. We couldn’t have hoped for a better scenario.

Unfortunately, Kevin Miquel was not really lucky. During the first stage, his rain jacket got stuck into the cassette, compromising the entire race. But Kevin is a strong rider, and he will show it at the next race.

Kevin Miquel: “I came to Zermatt with high expectations, but it was quite hard to stay confident with the terrible weather conditions. I prefer riding in dry conditions, but this is the game, and we have to paly it. Unfortunately, I had some trouble in the first stage. My rain jacket got stuck in the cassette ruining all my hopes. I lost a lot of time. On stage 2, I did my best, and I finish in 7th position. I have to keep my confidence, I have the race pace, and I am looking forward to Pietra and Finale Ligure in 2 weeks.”

Théo Galy had a truly fantastic race finishing the first stage in 7th place and the second in 2nd place.

Théo Galy: “It was a tricky race with the weather conditions. Snow, rain, and minus zero temperatures; however, I managed to be as fast as possible. It’s my first podium on EWS, and I can’t be happier. Indeed, since my injury in Olargues, 2 years ago, I struggled to come back to my best shape. We worked a lot with the team, and this result is an achievement, especially thinking about the tough times we’re all experiencing in this 2020”.

The Sunn Enduro team once again leaves its mark on the EWS, we are looking forward to the next race. Yeah, boyz!
