Introducing the Selva V

The Selva V is a product of the long, rocky, technical trails found close to our factory in Tuscany and around the Mediterranean. These trails require a fork that is precise, responsive, consistent and comfortable.

Using a new low-friction air spring, a refined chassis and a proven damper the Selva V is all these things.

New V Air Spring

Low-friction design for performance and reliability
Our floating piston design reduces friction throughout the stroke. The small imperfections inherent in metal can create friction at the main seal of the piston. By using an elastic mount which allows the piston to move both radially and axially, it can naturally compensate for these imperfections, reducing friction and providing a more consistent feel all the way through the stroke.

A single air valve is used to inflate both positive and negative air chambers. To balance pressure between these chambers the Selva V uses a unique concentric bypass valve design, rather than a conventional bypass port. Repeated passage over a bypass groove can wear out a seal. To compensate for this a stronger, more robust seal is needed, one that inevitably adds friction The concentric bypass valve allows us to ditch grooves and reduce friction even more.

All of this adds up to the lowest friction fork we have ever made, making this our most responsive fork ever.

Refined Chassis

We think in terms of steering precision, rather than absolute stiffness, which is not useful in and of itself. Thanks to redesigned lowers and greater distance between bushings, the Selva V is a bit (technical term) stiffer than the previous generation of Selva.

The Selva V uses 35mm stanchions. This makes for a lighter, more comfortable fork that is less fatiguing, allowing you to ride faster for longer.

A PM7 disc mount and an 8mm increase in axle to crown lengths bring the Selva V in-line with other brands. An integrated mudguard gives a clean look to the fork—and your face.

Proven Damper

The damper architecture is unchanged from the previous generation Selva. Change for change’s sake isn’t what we do.

Our bladder design is sensitive, responsive and reliable.

Internal Floating Technology has been a core part of our forks for 10 years. By mounting the air spring and damper cartridge on special joints we don’t need to increase stanchion size and increase weight to reduce friction and binding.

Compression Tuning System are easily changeable valves that alter the suspension’s compression damping characteristics. CTS gives riders a quick, simple and reversible way of finding the right compression tune for the way they ride—no expensive re-shimming required. Two CTS valves are supplied with the fork with a further six available.
