Selva V Impresses MountainBike Magazine
We sent our latest fork, the Selva V, over to German magazine MountainBike for review. With its new dual-chamber air spring and re-designed chassis, along with our proven Compression Tuning System and Internal Floating System, there was plenty for them to get to grips with.
After extensive workshop analysis and a ton of on-trail testing, author Florian Storch has published his thoughts in the February 2026 issue. To read the full review you’ll need to find a copy of the magazine, but for those outside Germany here are some of Florian’s findings.
Design & First Impressions
The Selva V uses a redesigned lower for additional stiffness and the ability to fit a fender, which is included in the box. It’s also a little sleeker. According to Florian, “lavender-colored stanchions make the new Selva V an eye-catcher.” Of course those who prefer to fly under the radar can choose the stealthier matte black option.
Weight & Value
The Selva V weighs in at 2100g for the 170mm version tested. The fork is assembled-in-Italy and has an MSRP of €1367. With a fender, two CTS valves, a pump and everything you need to service your fork in the box (plus some stickers), there are no hidden costs to ownership. Florian describes this as “top value for a 170mm enduro fork with e-MTB approval.”
Technical Features
The new V air spring uses a self equalizing dual-chamber system. The Internal Floating System on the air spring and damper reduce friction and prevent the fork binding, giving you all the performance all of the time.
The 35mm stanchions and re-designed lower legs with larger bushing spacing increase steering precision without sacrificing comfort. As Florian says “the Selva V proves to be not too stiff, which reduces arm fatigue on rough terrain”.
As with the rest of the Formula fork range, the Selva V is compatible with the Compression Tuning System valves to tune the ride feel. Two valves are included with the fork for you to experiment with. “The tested blue valve demonstrated how effectively the Selva V’s damping and riding characteristics can be adjusted via the CTS system”, says Florian.
On-Trail Performance
So, how do all those features translate to what really matters: on-trail performance.
When riding Florian says, “The consistently strong damping skilfully counters harsh, rapid impacts, bringing stability to the bike at high speeds – and encouraging a more spirited riding style.”
The V air spring and CTS system deliver “excellent response, strong traction, plenty of support”, while the 35mm stanchions provide comfort when things get rough.
We designed the Selva V to be a long-travel fork that could be pushed hard and deliver comfort and steering precision. Sounds like we nailed the brief.
MountainBike’s Verdict
“The Selva V represents a strong alternative to the enduro fork establishment, excelling with its clever CTS damping system especially for suspension optimizers. The price is also fairly set.”

We’ll take that. Thanks Florian.
